The Restival Rain Cape
Final Bachelor Project
Consumption levels are rising and are a clear reflection of the linear economy. This economic model has a focus on produce, use, dispose and lacks the applications of concepts such as repair, reuse and recycle. The high levels of consumption therefore result in significant waste streams. The aim of this project is to identify one of these waste streams and to redesign it into a new usable product. The focus of this project is on the festival context and the waste stream used is that of tents being abandoned at festivals. The redesign of the tents is The Restival Rain Cape. This project contributes to the field of unpacking circularity and makes the concept accessible through a practical application of reuse and circularity.
